BoztheMadman
When and if he gets past Takam, which I think he should, then he's the mandatory for Fury's IBF title. Provided that Fury doesn't lose it to Wladimir, of course. ;-) Do you think Parker can beat Fury or eventually Wladimir himself? At the moment he looks very good. This Takam fight will be a very good test for him I think. I like the lad, these Maori guys really go out there to fight, they can only lack quality and skill, but never fire and fighting spirit. WelshDevilRob
Re: Joshua Parker-can he beat Fury? Anthony Joshua holds the IBF title. The winner of Joseph Parker vs Carlos Takam will be the mandatory for AJ - should happen later this year unless the proposed Fury vs Joshua at the Millennium Stadium fight happens in November. Joseph, thank you! Well...that's even better, because there whoever wins, it's ok, because neither of them is a jerk. Lol. :thumb:
Cableaddict
Re: Joshua Parker-can he beat Fury? I expect Parker will eat AJ alive, then make an after-dinner snack out of Fury. Parker is too fast, aggressive, powerful and accurate. AJ would have a small chance, simply because of his power, but Parker will likely overwhelm him, destroy his midsection, then chop him down. Parker is like White, on PCP. - And with much better defense, too. The only guys I see having a good chance against Parker, Stylistically, are Ugonoh, Dinu (if he ever gets a chance) Wilder, and Ortiz. All of those would be insanely exciting fights. I was just enjoying getting a little excited for a moment. This has been a rather dismal year for the sport. nothing but mismatches and robberies, as far as the eye can see. Depends where you're looking - I watch a fraction of the boxing I did five years ago, but only last week there was Moreno-Rungivisa, which was great to watch, if an ill-tempered affair. robprosser
Re: Joshua Parker-can he beat Fury? We know very little about Parker. He's looked good unloading against stationary targets but he struggled against Jason Bergman. I've got a suspicion that Parker is a bit one dimensional and limited hence the careful matchmaking. The picture in my head is Joshua smacking his jab into Parker's face for a couple of rounds before knocking him out with a big right hand! We'll all now a bit more when he goes in with Takam. gavpowell
Re: Joshua Parker-can he beat Fury? Never even heard of it! (or them) I'll check it out, thanks. Anselmo Moreno is a lovely little bantamwieght out of Panama(probably most notable for dismantling a fading Vic Darchinyan or), whereas Suriyan Sor Rungivisai is a Thai-born ex-flyweight champion with fast hands and a decent dig and tends to be quite aggressive(well, Thai fighters usually are). I forget if there's any relation between the two, but if the name Rungvisai means nothing to you, look up Srisaket Sor Rungvisiai - he's a one-dimensional sort, but he's a wrecking machine. Layton
Re: Joseph Parker-can he beat Fury? I don't think Parker will have an easy time with Takam, he's still raw, also he wouldnt be fury's mando, he will be Joshua's mate, thats a good fight i think
boxingbruiser2015
Re: Joshua Parker-can he beat Fury? It will be a really hard match for sure. Fury is very good, as is Joshua. Really curious about this bout. I don`t know whom to bet on, that is for sure.

Canelo
Re: Joshua Parker-can he beat Fury? Right now these are two best young Heavyweight boxers in boxing arena and it's hard to say if Joshua Parker can beat fury or not, but from my personal favoritism I would say he can, assuming that he keeps on improving. Cableaddict
Re: Joshua Parker-can he beat Fury? When did Tyson Fury become this great boxer? He's looked average at best for his entire career. He gets in the ring with Wlad and dances around for 12 rounds, landing a smattering of pitty-pat punches, and only winning because Wlad basically stood there like a drugged out sloth, barely throwing a single power punch (& when he did, they weren't even at full speed.) Now suddenly Tyson Fury is some kind of force in the HW division? What drugs are some of you taking?
gavpowell
Re: Joshua Parker-can he beat Fury? When did Tyson Fury become this great boxer? He's not, but he's far more proven than Parker, Joshua, Whyte etc.

(Of course, those three names are setting the bar pretty low. - But Parker will likely KO Takam, which will change the landscape a bit.)

Well, I grant you I'm gradually losing touch with boxing, but the division seems to be divided into established champions and novices/young pretenders - especially now Povetkin and Browne are out of the mix.
