Loaded_Gloves
Herbie Hide, two-times world heavyweight boxing champion, remanded in custody on rape charge Former two-time world heavyweight boxing champion Herbie Hide was yesterday charged with rape. Hide, 39 – who won the WBO title in 1994 and 1997 – did not enter a plea at Norwich magistrates court. He allegedly committed the offence last November and was remanded in custody until his crown court appearance on April 15. Hide, who lives in a self-built mansion in Bawburgh, near Norwich, was born in Nigeria and moved to Britain as a boy. He began his boxing career in 1989 winning his first world title five years later against Tommy Morrison. He regained his belt by blasting out Tony Tucker in two rounds but was stopped by Vitali Klitschko two years later. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2011/04/02/herbie-hide-two-times-world-heavyweight-boxing-champion-remanded-in-custody-on-rape-charge-115875-23031814/

Brick Top
What's the no plea mean indicate then? As good as guilty?
gavpowell
Not necessarily - no plea at the prelimary hearing could mean he's waiting for more time with is solicitor or that the crown hasn't provided sufficient evidence one way or the other - he'll be back up before the beak in a month or so and asked to plead again. If he doesn't, they'll carry on regardless.

irondave85
Hide never even fought Tommy Morrison, let alone beat him. He won the WBO title from Michael Bentt, who did in fact defeat Morrison for that strap.

He was mean't to fight Morrison in a double header called High Noon in Hong Kong in a co main event with Frank Bruno vs Ray Mercer.
The_budweiser
if hes guilty then i hope hes charged with the offence but if not i hope he then charges the acusser, a footballer in Scotland just got acussed of it and so far theres been to reports of him taking legal action against the girl. Too many false reports happen and it effects the ones who were generally raped, so charge the false reports not just the offenders.
