Skav
Solis took the money and ran.
WelshDevilRob
I wonder if a bookmaker somewhere got looted by a 1st round KO bet in large dollar bills?
iamasadlittleboy
Torn ACL apparently...
WelshDevilRob
Disapointed more than anything. Was expecting Solis to put up a really good fight. These things happen. Michael Grant had a similar injury against Jameel McCline. Think Derrick Jefferson did aswell in a fight but tried unsuccesfully to fight on. Skav
Watched it a number of times and I think Solis MAY have hurt his knee as his leg stretched outwards as he was going back. That's the only way he could have hurt it from what I could see.

iamasadlittleboy
Anyone able to tell me why that wasn't a TKO?
gavpowell
Because he never stood unaided from the knockdown and was facing away from the ref, who counted 10 and paused breifly before waving it off. If you're held up by the ropes when going dowhn it's still a knockdown, so presumably you have to stand unsupported for the count to stop.

Hmm looks like he did for several seconds before the referee waved it off. The count has to get to 8 for the "mandatory 8 count" whether your up or down"...facing away from the ref would bare no difference on the ruling, much like standing up and walking all over the place. IMO it seemed like it was an "injury" and not a "knock out"
iamasadlittleboy
http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=27473&more=1 WBC Rule it was a TKO, Oner thought it'd be a Technical Decision...lols!
McBride
If you are facing away from the ref, therefore by extension away from the opponent, you are in no fit position to defend yourself ( fight ) hence the stoppage. Where this nonsensical idea that Haye will be bouyed by the ease with which Solis caught Vitali comes into the equation is beyond me. It is Vladimir that has the shitty chin, not Vitali. The question is what happens when Vitali hits Haye on the button?
gavpowell
I would think Haye would be delighted to discover Vitali was easy to hit for a speedy fighter because he's looking to score piints and win rounds, and speed's about all he's got going for him.
