There were rumours that Ward and Bill met halfway in a car park somewhere, where the legendary bare-knuckle fight went down in Ireland. But the main story that travellers still talk about ‘til this day is this: Bill, being the fighting man he was, embarked on the two-month journey from Cork to Dublin, where the two men had their first encounter at the city’s horse fair. King Ward was supposed to have been the best bare-knuckle fighter Ireland had to offer at this time and to be the king you've got to beat the king. More...
